Reception - The Space Between
The Space Between: Thresholds of Time and Becoming 📍 First Studio Gallery | Phoenix 📅 April 3 – May 22, 2026 🎉 First Friday Reception April 3 | 5–9 pm (Featuring a special installation by Harold Lohner) This exhibition explores the threshold moments in life—the spaces between identities, responsibilities, and stages of becoming. Now in my early sixties, I find myself inhabiting that in-between terrain: not young, not old; balancing my studio practice with work, home life, and family. Some pieces reflect the frenetic energy of time rushing forward. Others settle into quieter rhythms of reflection and prayer. The space between is not empty. It is where transformation begins.
Anam Cara (soul friends) | solo show | Tess Mosko Scherer
Join us for a reception for Tess Mosko Scherer's solo show, Anam Cara (soul friends) Inspired by the profound teachings of Irish poet and philosopher John O’Donohue, "Anam Cara" Gaelic for soul friends, delves into the rich tapestry of Irish mysticism. Growing up as the daughter of a first-generation Irish American, I was immersed in a world that seamlessly intertwined the visible and the invisible, where the concept of soul was as tangible as that of the body. I invite you to join me on a journey where the ethereal becomes palpable, and the connections between souls are unveiled. My artistic journey has been a continuous exploration of themes such as self-love, voice, grief, and love. Along this path, I found myself delving into the profound realms of Solitude and Silence: The Place where the Soul Speaks. Through art I navigate the internal landscape, capturing the essence of oneself and the mysterious dimensions within. Tess Mosko Scherer resides in Phoenix, Arizona with dual citizenship in the US and Ireland, her over 40-year career spans the for-profit and non-profit sectors. As a gallerist, artist, advocate, author, and coach, she has dedicated herself to unraveling the transformative power of art. Currently serving as the Director of the Arizona Art Alliance, she has received numerous grants for projects supporting US Veterans, and individuals touched by trauma and suicide. Exhibited across the United States and collected internationally, her artwork reflects a deep connection to the human experience. Through Anam Cara she shares her intimate exploration of soul connections, weaving together the threads of her Irish heritage and the universal language of the human spirit. Immerse yourself in the evocative artwork of Anam Cara, where the whispers of the soul echo through the silence, inviting us to embrace the profound beauty within ourselves and others.
