The Walter Hive

The Walter Hive was founded in 2017 as the non-profit arm of the Walter Project, with the mission of building resilience, promoting healing and fostering creativity through the arts. Our founders recognized a need to offer underserved and/or challenged populations the opportunity to creatively express themselves, as a part of personal wellness. As retired physicians they have combined their passion for health and the arts; they have been working with this unique approach for 30 years and the non-profit has allowed them to expand their reach to a greater community. The Walter Hive works with several partner organizations, filling gaps in their programming. Many of these programs are provided for free or at low cost to other nonprofits that have minimal funding of their own. Through these partnerships and greater community outreach we benefit underserved and marginalized populations.
