CIHUAPACTLI COLLECTIVE

The CC’s purpose is to provide healing for self-identifying Urban Indigenous Peoples from the diaspora. This is done by sharing wisdom, connecting resources, revitalizing Traditional Knowledge, and promoting health and wellness. Rooted in ancestral and Traditional Knowledge, the CC is committed to empowering families through four bundles: Cultural Revitalization & Education, Food Justice & Land Restoration, Birth Equity & Reproductive Justice, and Mental Health & Integrative Wellness. We support the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self-determination families. The CC’s four defining elements are Spirituality, Knowledge, Culture, and Community. These four elements provide the foundation for all the work given that people served come from diverse Indigenous backgrounds. The CC is dedicated to decolonizing health and maternal health for low-income Urban Indigenous/BIPOC families in the South Phoenix and Central Region of Maricopa County. The Collective understands that the well-being of families is the building block of healthy communities.
