We run three programs: in-person field trips to arts and culture experiences for students attending Arizona's Title I schools in the Phoenix and Tucson areas, a VR Field Trip Program called Arts Immersion that brings arts and culture field trips into Title I classrooms throughout Arizona, and the Act One Culture Pass program which provides free access to arts and cultural venues for library cardholders in nearly every county in Arizona.

Arizona Repertory Singers

The Arizona Repertory Singers is an auditioned ensemble of nearly 50 singers from greater Tucson. Over the decades, the choir has developed an extensive repertory and prides itself on presenting high quality performances of both standard repertoire and new music. Its singers, selected through a rigorous audition process, represent a variety of work life careers in business, education, engineering, information technology, law, medicine, social service, science, and the arts. At The Outlet, Inc., we’re a 501(c)(3) public charity that acts like a power surge protector — a central hub where multiple programs plug in and receive energy, support, and connection. Youth of all abilities, learning styles, and diverse needs can plug in, be emPOWERed, and become conduits of creative kinetic energy through our programs. These programs include ATO Academy, our K–12 micro school and homeschool co-op with full-time academics, electives, and daily Maker Space sessions, plus accredited out-of-school time programs in partnership with local schools. The CC’s purpose is to provide healing for self-identifying Urban Indigenous Peoples from the diaspora. This is done by sharing wisdom, connecting resources, revitalizing Traditional Knowledge, and promoting health and wellness. Rooted in ancestral and Traditional Knowledge, the CC is committed to empowering families through four bundles: Cultural Revitalization & Education, Food Justice & Land Restoration, Birth Equity & Reproductive Justice, and Mental Health & Integrative Wellness. We support the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self-determination families. The CC’s four defining elements are Spirituality, Knowledge, Culture, and Community. These four elements provide the foundation for all the work given that people served come from diverse Indigenous backgrounds. The CC is dedicated to decolonizing health and maternal health for low-income Urban Indigenous/BIPOC families in the South Phoenix and Central Region of Maricopa County. The Collective understands that the well-being of families is the building block of healthy communities.

City of Peoria Arts & Culture

Arts and Culture in Peoria The history of the City of Peoria’s Arts and Culture program goes back to the 1987 creation of the Peoria Arts Commission and the Percent for the Arts Program by Peoria City Council. Since that time funding for the public art program has come from a one-percent contribution from each of the City’s capital improvement projects. The Peoria Arts Grant program was created in 1998 to help promote the arts in the community. The grant program provides various funding to local arts organizations for programming in Peoria. The program is regularly modified to meet the needs of the community and is monitored to evaluate program impact. The program helps to support local arts organizations as well as attract programming from around the Phoenix region to Peoria. In Fiscal Year 2026, 42 Arts and Culture grants were awarded, totaling $300,000. In 2007, the city unveiled the new Peoria Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Peoria. The city and community have many diverse and ambitious goals for their cultural programs. In 2009, an Arts Master Plan was created that sought to align the goals into a specific set of recommendations, which provided overarching, holistic policy direction. In 2022, a new Arts & Culture Plan was approved by the Peoria City Council and provides direction of Peoria's Arts and Culture programming into the future. The plan’s vision defines that the arts in Peoria support a vibrant cultural community that is accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for all. Public Art in Peoria Public art enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors by creating spaces that are inviting and interesting. Community is strengthened by fostering cultural opportunities to engage artists and the public, through a variety of events, public art, and arts and culture programming. Peoria residents are encouraged to participate in building such a community that reflects the voice and heritage of Peoria. The Peoria Arts & Culture Commission oversees Peoria’s public art program. The seven-member commission made up of Peoria residents make recommendations to the City Council on a variety of topics in arts and culture that directly benefit the livability initiatives for the city and its residents. The livability goals for the city were adopted by the City Council included in the General Plan 2040. These goals guide the Peoria Arts and Culture Commission in seeking out public art opportunities that enhance the quality of life and create a destination that is uniquely Peoria. The public art collection is on display throughout the city in public parks, other accessible public spaces and municipal buildings such as the Peoria City Hall and the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. Funding for art projects comes from the city’s capital improvement projects (streets, parks, fire stations, etc.) which contribute one percent of the total cost of the projects into a dedicated arts fund. The arts fund is then used for acquiring public art.

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona

The mission of Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is “transforming children’s trauma to resilience through the arts.” Every year, over 78,600 children in Arizona experience the pain of abuse, neglect, and homelessness. Our research-based program model, Art + Mentors = Resilience, helps children build the resilience they need to overcome their trauma by connecting them with caring adults and creative activities that develop their skills and sense of self. Free Arts serves children ages 3 to 26 years old residing in homeless and domestic violence shelters, foster care group homes, residential treatment centers, with foster and kinship families, or attend alternative program schools, using intentional art to transform children’s trauma to resilience. Free Arts is the only nonprofit organization in Arizona that brings trauma-informed creative arts programs to abused and homeless children free of charge. Many of these children have been removed from their families and have been traumatized due to physical and/or sexual abuse, neglect, or other dangerous conditions. Undergoing this type of trauma often results in feelings of shame and isolation, inability to function at school, the use of negative coping tools (like drug abuse or self-harm), and significant health risks. Children in these situations need to be connected with positive, caring adults and the opportunity to build skills and discover their talents. Our volunteer mentors support and build healthy relationships with children as they engage in the arts. Free Arts is committed to interrupting the cycle of trauma in these children’s lives and, through the arts, provide a path to a healthier life. Free Arts creates a safe environment where children can express themselves, learn new skills, developed self-efficacy, and build resilience.

Japanese Friendship Garden

​The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, Rohoen, is an authentic 3.5 acre Japanese Stroll Garden with a tea garden and a tea house. This tranquil and beautiful setting features more than 1,500 tons of hand-picked rock, stone foot bridges, lanterns and more than 85 varieties of plants. As you stroll the path, you will enjoy flowing streams, a 14-foot waterfall, and a koi pond with over 300 colorful Koi fish.

Kids in Focus

Kids in Focus is a nonprofit organization mentoring youth to overcome adversity and build resilience through the art of photography. Since 2012, Kids in Focus has been putting cameras in kids’ hands with the guidance and encouragement of adult, volunteer mentors – many who are avid and professional photographers. Following our training program, these skilled mentors use photography to connect, engage and encourage life-long creativity. We collaborate with local schools, nonprofit community partners and foster care programs to engage valley youth through our signature After School Mentoring Program, workshops, and the Grads in Focus Program. As their photography skills develop, youth create trusting relationships and learn to see the world in new ways. The kids’ select their favorite images that become part of the Exhibits Program and are displayed at museums, community centers, schools, businesses, and cultural institutions in dozens of public installations each year. Kids in Focus provides over 700 unique experiences to over 350 students each year . We create opportunities for any child to express their unique perspective and voice with skills that foster confidence, resilience and joy.

Midtown Neighborhood Association

We serve to promote the livability of the midtown neighborhood. Midtown Neighborhood Association (MNA) began as the Midtown Museum District Neighborhood Association in 2008, initiated by a few tenacious residents of condominiums at Tapestry on Central, seeking greater City representation of their neighborhood. In 2015, the founders incorporated into a 501(c)3 with a mission to organize various social and information-sharing events that provide opportunities for neighbors in Midtown Phoenix to get to know each other. Critical to MNA is the promotion of neighborhood safety and Block Watch groups to reduce crime and vandalism. We partner with representatives of local government – Mayor’s office, City Council, Phoenix Police, Keep Phoenix Beautiful – and transportation purveyors like Valley Metro light rail, as well as Midtown parks, museums and cultural arts to achieve our mission. Our neighborhood is blessed with a variety of cultural and performing arts venues, excellent public transportation, accessible green spaces and well-preserved historic residential neighborhoods, as well as business and architectural support of our urban lifestyle.

Musical Instrument Museum

The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) is a 200,000-square-foot building with two floors of spacious, light-filled galleries and a collection of more than 12,500 instruments and associated objects. Phoenix Center for the Arts provides arts and culture opportunities for all through education, programming, and advocacy. Since 1984, Phoenix Children’s Chorus (PCC) has been transforming children’s lives through music by facilitating artistic, musical, and cultural development, and offering world-class choral education. More than just a performance ensemble, PCC prides itself on its rigorous music education curriculum including the study and practice of vocal technique, innovative music literacy instruction, and professional performance skills. Our artistic team is comprised of highly qualified, experienced, and successful educators who enjoy guiding children to reach their potential. PCC began with just 35 children and has grown to become Arizona’s premier youth choir with more than 300 choristers in eight choirs.

Phoenix Chorale

Phoenix Chorale's 28 Arizona-based singers usually perform live 4 times a year in the Phoenix Metro Area, with 3-5 concerts each time. Our venues change with each season, but we perform most regularly at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Downtown Phoenix and at Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley. Phoenix Trolley Museum

The Phoenix Trolley Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of streetcars, public transportation, and community development in Phoenix and Arizona. Located at 1117 Grand Avenue in Phoenix’s Grand Avenue Commercial Historic District, the museum features historic streetcars, photographs, maps, artifacts, and exhibits that tell the story of how transit shaped the city’s growth. Through educational programs, exhibits, oral history projects, tours, and special events, the museum connects visitors with Phoenix’s transportation heritage. Its collection includes rare original Phoenix streetcars, offering a unique glimpse into the city’s past and the evolution of urban mobility. The museum was honored as “Best Museum You Probably Haven’t Visited” by the Phoenix New Times and received the Institutional Award of Excellence from the Museum Association of Arizona. ProMusica Arizona Chorale and Orchestra

ProMusica Arizona’s mission is to enrich lives in the greater Phoenix area, with focus on the North Valley, through innovative, joint performances of its multi-generational Chorale and Orchestra. The 2023-24 season marks ProMusica Arizona’s 21st performance year. The Chorale and Orchestra perform a wide variety of repertoire from classical to popular, including major works and concert versions of musicals. Performances often include visual elements, soloists, and actors to enhance the concert experience. The multi-generational Chorale and Orchestra consists of volunteer community members, supplemented with professional performers, as needed. Community musicians perform alongside professionals in concerts throughout the season. ProMusica Arizona’s commitment to participatory community music is built on an inclusive policy of attracting musicians in every age group and providing a challenging but supportive environment to develop talent. Participation offers members an opportunity to practice with others, perform before a live audience, and receive mentoring and instruction from experienced singers and instrumentalists. Since its founding in 2003, PMAZ has become a leader in bringing live music to audiences in the Phoenix area. With 113 singers and instrumentalists ranging in age from mid-teens to early-80s, the group has performed 295 times for 141,000 people in venues across the Valley.

SKYE'S THE LIMIT FOUNDATION is a 501c3 Public Charity RECOGNIZING THE NEED FOR COMPASSION AND CONNECTION TO COMBAT THE SOCIAL ISOLATION THAT CAN LEAD TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND SUICIDE. OUR VISION IS TO SEE A RESILIENT WORLD WHERE WE THRIVE TOGETHER. MISSION: The Mission of Skye’s the Limit! Foundation is to prevent trauma-related loss by substance overdose and suicide by building resiliency and empowering youth, families, and communities through trauma-informed advocacy, education, peer support, and evidence-informed creative arts and nature-based intervention strategies. We cultivate a trauma-informed community where artistic expression serves as a pathway to healing, connection, leadership, and lifelong resilience. Skye’s the Limit was founded in light of the trauma-related overdose of 19-year-old Skye Gina Ratcliffe Pilato on September 30, 2014. After two suicide attempts, Skye resorted to drugs to numb the pain she was feeling in isolation. In her honor, Skye’s the Limit now educates the community on trauma, harm reduction, and self-care and works to provide an environment for youth to speak out, express themselves, and ask for help.

The Thalweg

The Thalweg exists to support creatives in rural, agricultural, outdoor, and wilderness-based communities. It is a space where the voices of folks who work outside—guides, fisherman, hunters, sailors, rangers, firefighters, educators, land stewards, farmers, ecologists, environmental scientists, and others—come together to explore the strange and beautiful ways they metabolize the wild landscapes where they live and work. Each issue features a collection of written and visual work from 8 to 15 contributors. Each issue is available in a limited print run. Once print copies are sold through, the issue can be browsed in our archive. We are committed to paying artists and writers for their work. We offer issues of The Thalweg on a sliding scale, donation basis. Pay what you can, anything helps us support our contributions. Above all else, our mission is to offer creative opportunities, community, and exposure to creative writers and visual artists who live and work in rural or wild landscapes.

The Walter Hive

The Walter Hive was founded in 2017 as the non-profit arm of the Walter Project, with the mission of building resilience, promoting healing and fostering creativity through the arts. Our founders recognized a need to offer underserved and/or challenged populations the opportunity to creatively express themselves, as a part of personal wellness. As retired physicians they have combined their passion for health and the arts; they have been working with this unique approach for 30 years and the non-profit has allowed them to expand their reach to a greater community. The Walter Hive works with several partner organizations, filling gaps in their programming. Many of these programs are provided for free or at low cost to other nonprofits that have minimal funding of their own. Through these partnerships and greater community outreach we benefit underserved and marginalized populations.

Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block

The Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block (TMA) connects art to life through meaningful and engaging experiences that inspire discovery, spark creativity, and promote cultural understanding. TMA encompasses an entire city block in historic downtown Tucson and is committed to developing quality exhibitions, caring for its collection, providing arts education opportunities, stewarding five historically significant properties, and presenting relevant and innovative programs while broadening public access to the arts. Presently, the collections encompass nearly 11,000 art objects that span 3,000 years of human history with a collecting focus in the areas of Art of the American West, Indigenous Arts, ancient to contemporary Latin American Art, and Modern and Contemporary Art. As this institution enters its second century of serving communities of Southern Arizona and beyond, its varied collections, interpretative programs, and exhibitions exemplify the museum’s regionality, reflecting multiple perspectives, histories, and cultural intersections as well as highlighting global influences and ideas.
